Tracy Dooley is a fourth year student at Stanford Medical School who came to Horsensei via her participation in the Medicine and Horses elective, which teaches nonverbal communication and other interpersonal skills. A former violinist, Tracy appreciated the elements of nonverbal communication so ubiquitous in chamber music and orchestral groups. Throughout medical school, Tracey was focused mainly on Stanford's thorough academic training.

In her last year she wanted to explore the more humanistic aspects of medicine and be mindful of creating strong patient-provider relationships. To that end, Medicine & Horses struck a chord with her. After the elective ended, Tracy began working with Horsensei to promote Medicine & Horses within the medical school and the larger healthcare community. Tracy is now responsible for developing the Medicine & Horses Professional program.

Tracy is currently a medical consultant for the Alameda County Department of Public Health, and serves as Venture Team Chair for Stanford Student Biodesign, an interdisciplinary program with elements of medicine, bioengineering, and entrepreneurship. †She enjoys swimming, exploring art galleries, and traveling, especially when it involves black sand beaches.
